The Casio Exilim ZR-10 represents a dramatic advancement beyond existing digital cameras. It is powered by the new Exilim Engine HS that integrates high-speed shooting and high-speed image processing to create amazing artistic photographs using Casio’s high dynamic range (HDR) technology.
The wide-angle 28 mm 7X optical zoom lens achieves zoom performance equivalent to 14X optical zoom with Casio’s Multi Frame SR Zoom, which actually combines a number of still images to create a sharp, clear photo. In addition, the dual image processing circuits built into the new engine dramatically reduce the interval between shots, and ultra-high speed burst shooting captures crucial moments at a maximum speed of 40 shots per second.
Its high-speed burst shooting brings a professional touch to basic camera functions like shooting, viewing and recording. The high speed engine enables the user to record high precision videos and detailed continuous shooting with the support of its multiple CPU’s, a reconfigurable processor, and dual image processing circuits.
In addition to high-speed movie recording at up to 480 fps for slow motion movies, it also takes full HD movies. While shooting a movie, users can also capture still images with the optical zoom and burst shooting function.

Most of the reviewers loved the HDR and HDR Art features as it easy to use and can take nice HDR shot. One reviewer commented that “It is so cool and easy! I always use my DSLR to take 3 shots and edit those shots using Photomatix and obviously lots of work, but with this camera even without a stand it can take a nice HDR shot! Brilliant!” The reviewers also liked the back-illuminated CMOS sensor which produces great images from ISO 100-400 and the fact that the high speed continuous shutter takes a lot pictures and is good for action or sports shots.
There were a couple of users who were a little bit disappointed by the video function. One reviewer said that as the H.264 format is still not supported by most DVD/media players and one can only watch them on the computer screen as for now. He also wished that there was an option to shoot in 720p instead of 1080p, to save HDD space. Another reviewer pointed out the fact that this camera is not as slim as other compact cameras from competitors.
