When researching the Casio Exilim EX-FC100 Digital Camera we found over 80 reviews online and the average user rating was 4.5 out of 5 stars. 4.5 stars is a pretty good rating but there were definitely some pros and cons to this camera.
The FC100 is a great looking camera and despite the amount of advanced technology crammed inside it, it has a very compact design. As a simple point and shoot, this camera delivers a ton of options geared towards non-experienced photographers.
For a small camera, it takes pretty good pictures even in low light conditions without using the flash. It has some great settings where you can set it to automatically start shooting high speed video as soon as the subject enters the frame, and it has a button that temporarily records a few seconds of whatever the lens is picking up, then plays it back to you in slow motion so you can snap the shutter at the optimal point. These features are great for nature photography.
There were a few drawbacks to the Casio Exilim EX-FC100 that some people pointed out. One was that the Camera does start to have photo quality problems, after it passes ISO 200. Another drawback is that the video has a lot of problems if you’re not shooting in natural light. Also, the video does not auto focus, we don’t think any point and shoot camera does that either. When you start to record a video, it’s fixed in the focus that it started with.
All in all, the EX-FC100 produces good pictures and is easy and fun to use. But the big thing about this camera is the high speed features, such as the ability to take 30 pics in 1 second and especially the high speed videos. This camera may be a good choice if you are looking for an inexpensive pocket sized high-speed video camera for action photography.
